Step-by-step guides for setting up your class or group. Teacher and staff accounts are always free.

Note: teacher and staff accounts are free — only pupil seats are licensed.

1. Create a class group

  1. Open the Groups page from your profile menu.
  2. Type a group name — for example your school and class, like "TTHK-3A" — and click Add.
  3. The group is created. Open it to add pupils and manage members.

2. Add pupils

  1. Open the group. Add one pupil with the Username field, or choose "Add several at once" and paste a list — one username per line.
  2. A password is optional: leave it blank and the pupil chooses their own on first login, or set one yourself.
  3. Each pupil gets a unique login code automatically. The "Seats available" counter shows how many more pupils you can add.

3. Share login details with pupils

Every pupil has a login card — their group name, username, a login code with a QR code, and their password (or a note that they set it on first login). You can hand these out in two ways:

  1. Print — click "Print login cards" to get one card per pupil to cut out and hand over.
  2. Email one — click the paper-plane icon on a pupil's row and enter an email address to send them their login card (handy for older pupils with a school email).
  3. Email several — tick the pupils, choose "Email cards", enter each pupil's address, and send them all at once.
  4. Shortcut — "Add several at once + email login cards" creates accounts from a pasted list of student emails (the username comes from the part before "@") and emails each pupil their card. Pupils you've already emailed show a small re-send mark on the send button.

4. How pupils log in

Pupils log in without an email. On the login page they open "Are you part of a group?" and use either their login code or their group name and username.

  1. Login code — the quickest way: the pupil types their code (or scans the QR on their card), then enters their password.
  2. Group name + username — the pupil enters the class group name and their own username, then their password.
  3. First time — if you didn't set a password, the pupil chooses their own on first login: a normal password, a pattern, or a picture combination.

5. Let another teacher manage a group

A head teacher can let colleagues manage their own groups, so one person doesn't have to do everything.

  1. Add the teacher to the group as a member, giving them a username — just like adding a pupil.
  2. Click the edit (pencil) icon on their row, turn on "Manager", and save.
  3. They can now log in with that group name and username (or their login code) and manage the group's pupils themselves.

6. Follow each child's progress

  1. Open the Dashboard (Statistics) from your profile menu.
  2. Select a pupil to see their points, games played and progress over time.

7. Reset a pupil's password

  1. Open the group and click the edit (pencil) icon on the pupil's row.
  2. Enter a new password and save. This sets a normal text password; the pupil can switch back to a pattern or pictures later in their profile.
  3. Share the new password with the pupil, or print or email their updated login card.
